Jim and Robyn Edsall are both a buyer and seller agent. What’s the difference and what does that mean for you?
So you’re ready to do some house hunting? Are you interested in finding a great vacation home or condominium in Banner Elk or other communities within the High Country? In addition to preparing to potentially compete with other buyers for the same property, be ready for the flurry of paperwork and other challenges that might come before you take ownership of those new keys.
Being a Buyer’s Agent simply means that your agent will act on your behalf. Not only will they listen to your specific wishes in terms of location, size and type of property – a buyer’s agent will schedule appointments to tour homes that fit your wish list.
As Buyer’s Agents, Jim and Robyn Edsall will assist you in determining an appropriate price to offer, and they will present that offer to the seller’s agent and then negotiate on your behalf. Once an offer is accepted, a Buyer’s Agent will write up the contracts and even refer you to home inspectors, movers and more.
Obviously the hope is always that things will go smoothly when negotiating the purchase of real estate, however sometimes home inspections bring issues to light and a buyer’s agent can advise you on how to proceed and act as a liaison between you and the sellers or their agent. Things can get tense and it is extremely beneficial to have an experienced pro in your corner to handle things and provide solutions.
Buyer’s agents are legally bound to help you the buyer, whereas listing agents—the agent representing the home listing—have a legal duty to the home seller.
Jim has 20 years of experience as a real estate attorney, and 10 years as a licensed realtor so he brings a wealth of skills to the table to represent you as a Buyer’s Agent.
Robyn Edsall has been in real estate for the past twenty years, working with her husband, Jim first at the Outer Banks and then in the NC high country. Robyn’s expertise is in finding fantastic deals for buyers, and highlighting the very best property features in sellers’ listings. She is highly organized, and provides exceptional attention to detail.
